After watching the video below, the next step is to contact our Travel Coordinator to begin your application process for a missionary trip to Pignon.

Important Forms & Checklist
IMPORTANT: All travelers MUST WATCH the travel video and are required to complete the traveler application form or you WILL NOT be allowed to serve in Pignon at our facilities. Forms MUST BE submitted two (2) months prior to travel.
CHECKLIST FOR ALL TRAVELERS
- “First-Timer” Promise For Haiti travelers to Pignon complete the “First-Timer” PFH Traveler Form and MUST WAIT FOR APPROVAL before proceeding with the next steps. Recurring or repeat travelers proceed with the next steps.
- Fill out the Traveler Application Form
- Fill out the Traveler Per Diem Form with Automatic Payment (THIS IS A NON-REFUNABLE FEE)
- TEAM LEADERS PLEASE Submit the Volunteer Team Registration Form
- Download and read the Traveler Manual
- Medical Teams download and read the Medical Travel Manual.
TRAVEL TO PIGNON REQUIRES THE FOLLOWING:
- Register your trip with the US Embassy: Smart Traveler Enrollment Program
- Purchase Medical & Evacuation Insurance – via Gallagher Charitable Travel Insurance
- Current Passport (6 months prior to expiration) & No Visa Required
- Sign and return the Code of Conduct and Read Policies and Guidance for Volunteers
- Adherance to CDC disease prevention advice for travel

Traveler Per Diem & Transportation to Pignon
Information Regarding Your Stay In Pignon
- We provide dorm space with clean linens for travelers to stay at a cost of $95 per person/per night. This also includes three meals per day and supports a Haitian Liaison to help your team to navigate while in Pignon. THIS IS A NON-REFUNDABLE FEE.
- We also have a mission house for longer term missionaries who prefer to work for one month or longer.
- Pay your per diem (traveler fee $95 per night) for room and board to Promise for Haiti six (6) weeks in advance

The Haitian Government will collect $10 for people traveling with a US passport upon arrival.
Important Note: Due to ongoing political instability in Port-au-Prince, we strongly recommend that travelers use Missionary Flights International (MFI) when flying to Haiti.
International Travel Options: International flights can arrive in Port-au-Prince (PAP) or Cap-Haitien (CAP) via major airlines such as American Airlines, Delta, JetBlue, and Spirit Airlines.
✈️ Missionary Flights International (MFI): MFI operates flights from Fort Pierce, Florida to Pignon, with a stopover in Cap-Haitien.
- Cost: $660 round-trip
- Additional Fees: Cargo and excess baggage are charged at $2.00 per pound
Getting to MFI in Fort Pierce: Travelers flying with MFI can reach Fort Pierce from nearby airports (including West Palm Beach, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, and Melbourne) in the following ways:
- One-way rental car through Hertz (MFI can return the rental car for you—please contact them in advance if you choose this option)
- Paid shuttle or transport service

✈️ Missionary Aviation Flights (MAF) — Currently Unavailable
Please note that MAF flights are not operating to Haiti at this time. When service resumes, travelers will need to arrange their own ground transportation from the Port-au-Prince international terminal to the MAF terminal after clearing customs. To coordinate this transportation, please contact our Haitian coordinator Noel Marie Adele
🚐 Ground Transportation (Car/Van/Bus) — Not Currently Advised
Due to ongoing political instability and safety concerns on the roads, we are strongly discouraging ground travel in Haiti at this time. Please consult with our team before making any transportation arrangements.
If ground travel becomes necessary and is deemed safe:
- Transportation can be arranged through our Haitian coordinator, Noel Marie Adele
- Typical costs:
- $180 per 10-person van from Port-au-Prince to Pignon
- $200 per 10-person van from Cap-Haïtien to Pignon
🚨 Important:
- These transportation costs are not included in the $95 PFH nightly per diem
- Travelers should plan to bring additional funds (preferably in cash) to cover any ground transportation needs while in Haiti.
