Nearly 45% of Haiti's children do not have access to basics education.
Vocational training is virtually inexistent, and there are few opportunities to
acquire useable skill that lead to gainful employment.
Many school children spend their free time either fetching water,
pumping it from overcrowded wells or looking for an ever elusive clean source.
Over the past 25 years, a small staff of Haitian doctors and nurses skilled and trained in modern techniques
have sustained the community through preventive and long term care, education and immunizations.
In time, several volunteer missions have joined them to shoulder their work.
Many specialists have come to make the hospital their
yearly committment to train, teach and cure the ailing at
Hospital Bienfaisance de Pignon.
The Telemedicine suite is one of the three operating rooms where
new techniques are shared and miracles happen every day.
